New boom in UK housing market
(1/2/2004)
Confidence in the UK housing market is returning according to the website propertyfinder.com.
The websites latest survey reveals that 52% of house hunters now expect property prices to rise in the next 12 months. This compares to just 30% of house hunters just a month ago.
Propertyfinder.com`s managing director, Jim Buckle says `The housing market is not heading for a crash. The seeds of optimism were sown last month as confidence began to increase. This optimism is now beginning to germinate.`
To back up these findings, Nationwide Building Society last week reported that in January house prices rose by 0.4%.
